BETHANY CLASS

McLaurin Room, First Floor Education Building
Class Chair, Sibbie McFaddin
The Bethany Class is a lecture based group that deepens the faith through Bible study. As one of the longest running classes at First Presbyterian, it is composed of women and men of all ages. Each Sunday, a different teacher leads the class through the Present Word curriculum. In Fall 2019, we are going to focus on God’s gift of Faith and how we respond to it personally and communally. All are welcome!
HARMONY CLASS
Sunday Mornings @ 9:30
Room 210, Second Floor Education Building
Class Chair, Karen Ingram
This Co-ed class is open to adults of all ages. The Harmony Class is a combination of lecture and discussion with a curriculum that varies depending on the season. We may do a book study, use a video series or dive straight into serious bible study. Switching it up gives us freedom to learn in different ways. Join us!
Beginning in February, this class will enjoy an 8-week video-based study of C. S. Lewis’ classic work, Mere Christianity. C.S. Lewis is often best known as the author of the Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters. He was not always a Christian, though, having spent his earlier years as an atheist and then as one exploring other world religions. In Mere Christianity he lays out his defense for the truth of Christianity above other world views that does not lead just to an improved outlook on life but to Transformation as one embraces the Christian faith personally and the living Christ takes up residence.
